How can I get involved in the PTA?

What is Starburst/Field Day?
The P.E. department hosts Starburst/Field Day, a half-day session for each grade, with fun activities like ring toss, soccer ball kicks, hula-hooping, tug-of-war, etc. Volunteer parents lead students through the activities, manned by 4th and 5th graders.
What is Reflections?
Reflections is a national fine arts contest through which students interpret a theme through literature, visual arts, photography, and/or musical composition. Students first compete at Simpson; top entries are sent to the Gwinnett County competition. Entries are due in September, and a celebration of winners will be held at the winter PTA General Membership meeting in February. The theme for 2019-2020 is “Look Within."
What is General Mills Box Tops for Education?
Save General Mills Box Tops for Education for monthly drawings. The PTA gets cash for the box tops. Trim the box tops and put bunches of 10 in a baggie marked with your child’s name/grade/teacher. Put baggies in the marked box in Simpson Square to qualify for drawings! If you shop online, you can use eBoxTops, through which you can shop at 175+ online retailers and a percentage of your purchase is contributed to Simpson. Does Simpson do any donation drives?
Yes! Please save old coats, car seats and those little hotel toiletries.
The PTA holds a variety of drives throughout the year to benefit our
- Coats, Car Seats and Canned Food are collected in November;
- Toys are collected in December,
- Toiletry items are collected in January.
Please Note: $20 Returned Check Fee
The PTA charges a $20 fee payable to Simpson PTA for all checks that are returned by the bank for non-payment due to non-sufficient funds or a closed account.
